RAPID
AIR BLAST
Rapid Air Blast
Rapid air blast generally applied to the high Ni or Power Generation Steels. Depending on the properties required, rapid air blast can be used in preference to air cooling as it can reduce the risk of distortion and cracking in higher grades of steel. We offer this facility to significantly increase cooling rates, doing so evenly and consistently to meet all property requirements.

What are the applications and benefits?
Rapid air blast generally applied to the high Ni or Power Generation Steels. Depending on the properties required, rapid air blast can be used in preference to air cooling as it can reduce the risk of distortion and cracking in higher grades of steel.
We offer this facility to significantly increase cooling rates, doing so evenly and consistently to meet all property requirements.
How does the process work?
The process is an additional technique that falls between air cool and polymer quench. The final product is dull grey in appearance with a flaky scale removable by Shot Blasting.
How can Con Mech Engineers help?
We can work to your specification or we can work with you to assess your application, what mechanical properties you require and how normalising might achieve the results required
